Situational awareness for rowers!

Your extra eye on the water!

rowculus keeps rowing crews aware of one another on the water — with a live map of your boat and nearby crews, for rowers and coxes.

WHAT THE APP CAN DO

A clear map. Better awareness on every outing.

Live map

See your boat, participating crews, and nearby obstacles at a glance. The map also helps you get your bearings on the water.

Location sharing & privacy mode

Your position is shared automatically during an active outing. In anonymous mode, your boat’s name and type stay hidden.

Rower & cox view

As a rower, you sit facing backwards relative to your direction of travel — the map rotates to match. Coxes use the normal orientation, or a fixed north-up view.

Collision warning

rowculus warns you in time when a boat or obstacle gets dangerously close — right on your device, in real time.

HOW IT WORKS

Three steps out on the water.

1

Set up your boat

Create a profile for your boat and its type, and choose between the rower and cox view.

2

Start your outing

Activate the outing before you cast off — rowculus now shares your location.

3

Stay alert

See nearby crews live on the map. Stay alert regardless — rowculus is a support, not a replacement.

Help rowculus grow!

rowculus is built and run by Thomas with a lot of dedication – for rowing crews who want to stay safely aware of what’s around them on the water.

Want to support the project, share ideas, or get involved another way? Feel free to reach out. Every bit of support helps cover running costs, keep developing rowculus, and better fit it to what rowing crews actually need.

If you’d like to support rowculus directly, you can just buy me a coffee. Thanks so much for your support! ☕🚣‍♂️
